    Ryder, I don’t even think our eyeballs and brains are meant to be on computers and staring at screens for so long each day, day after day, or our ears to be plugged with ear buds for hours per day. With analog our brain engages how it’s meant to, our eyes and brains aren’t being assaulted with colors, images and having to make constant micro decisions. Look here, look there. It’s overwhelming. No one can admit it. Everyone is going with the electronic flow. I’d like to see Analog more encouraged in the workplace. When I worked I had A5 journals provided by the company and I kept on top of everything in a bullet style method for years. I never lost, or forgot or missed much. Flipping back through a journal puts you back to that time, that conversation, the nuance. Scratching off tasks is the best for mind and soul at work. Having your sequential hard bound books, your work history as a collection is a sound practice. You can’t get this from electronic anything. What’s old is new again. ❤️ yeah bujo!

    im a little late... but I was introduced to Bullet Journaling last year in July. I started with a Drawing pad.. to see if I would stick with it.... Well I did! Its been like a meditation for me with setting up a monthly spread. Its not the exact system that I am seeing here..... but I just got the book yesterday... and I am not a big reader but I have very much been enjoying this book. I love that it talks about how to Take Notes, something I personally been working on this year for Myself. Its not about writing everything down which I used to do in school and for work. Then I just had pages with words and lost meanings. I also love the structure of the Method here. As my book is kind of together, but im tweaking it each Month. Looking forward to June now so I can try more of The Actual Method.. Really loved that I was introduced to this and its helped me with staying Focused, Productive, and Less Stressed. I love writing and clearing my mind and its become just an amazing Tool for my everyday. I thank you Very Much. Book is beautifully structured too. As I have a short attention span, and reading through it is nice because its structured in short bursts, not long chapters and doesn't drain my mind, it keeps me engaged and wanting to keep reading. Thank You So Much.

    i was introduced to Bullet Journal through a streamer on twitch... and I started last Year on a Drawing Book to see if it was something I would stick with... and Wow... it has.. The Bujo and a WhiteBoard has been the best investment for me this year.

    There's one thing I didn't understand, what is the future log for? To simply dump the things that we couldn't finish last month and now in this new month not important to us?

    • @bulletjournal
      @bulletjournal День тому

      The Future Log is a persistent spread toward the front of the notebook for the months beyond this current one. So if you just set up a notebook, it would be for June - November (6 months), because you will set up a May Monthly Log. The Future Log is to log the actions or events that are outside of that current month. You reference the Future Log when you migrate each week/month for what becomes relevant - hope this helps!

    Dear Ryder, Thank you for helping to stay intentional in the busy digital age. I have a question for you. Now that pocket-sized Bullet Journal came out I am very interested in integrating that format into my practice. I did indeed find it hard sometimes to carry full-sized notebooks around, so that they can be with me at times when some urgent thoughts or ideas come and need to be recorded. Pocket BuJo seems like a great design and solution. But could you , please, explain how one can use it alongside the full-sized notebook and integrate the two seamlessly to still achieve clarity and transparency? Thank you in advance and thank you for all you do!

    I use Google tasks/calendar for things that are both very time sensitive and in the future. My phone is set to remind me about these things so even if that's a bad PTSD day, I'll still do the thing is the very small window of time when I can do it. Other stuff gets the notebook. I need my tasks to be in tangible for them to be real. I love digital tools, but they are... slippery.

    Reframing and changing phrases for tasks/to-dos is a great idea! ^^ Was wondering if you have suggestions on how to apply something like that to long-term goals? I tend to be someone that follows through with small tasks and short-term goals, but have this problem where long-term goals are built up to be intimidating in my mind and make it hard to follow through. Even when I break it down in steps, the occasional set-back and the long-term goal sitting in the back of my mind tend to be sources for high-anxiety in my life. Would also appreciate what you can recommend for dealing with burn-out. ^^;

    Very true! That's why I like that some journalers online say that you don't have to journal every day, and journal only when you feel like it/need it. Journalling can always be something to get back on the ball of, and something I'm starting to do with some of my half-filled journals and notebooks. ^^

    I frickin loved bullet Journaling, I did do it a bit more artsy because doing art is a way for me to get away out of the world for a little bit, but to make time to make bigger things was too tiring or took too much time so I did it through my Journaling cuz it doesn't take too much time to make a weekly spread.. If I really didn't have time I'd keep it this simple.. I didn't do it for the art, the basic system worked so damn well for me, I have adhd and planning is always been a struggle but this helped soo so much

    Ryder man, good stuff. I’ve incorporated BuJo into my daily practice and notice a big difference around intentions. What goes into a task manager vs. your BuJo?

  • @DataTranslator

    I admire Ryder’s humble confidence. He knows his methods work, but never claims they are the only solution. That state of mind is inviting, realistic, and practical. Following BUJO’s practices and rituals has helped to recover a purposeful way of living; that I had lost due to anxiety and depression.
